"Why not recess the spring line cleats?" an owner asked several years back. "I'd have less trouble getting fishing lines and ropes snagged accidentally." We took that suggestion to heart when we introduced our Fisherman 222 in 1998. This is not only a nice convenience feature for fishermen, but can even be a smart safety feature. Coming through Oregon Inlet last February the wind shifted against the tide and breakers were up to eight feet. The boat performed very well. Altogether we caught 18 big stripers that trip.
