Reggie Fountain's famous mission statement "to build the fastest, smoothest, safest and best-handling boats on the water" is evident in most models and the very popular 38 LX is a fine example. The boat is very functional and very fishable. If you like to fish, dive, cruise and hang out on your boat for a night or two and enjoy getting there and back quickly and quietly, you should give this model serious consideration. Speeds in excess of 60 mph at wide open and a speedy and comfortable cruise of 45+ enable you to get farther, faster. Triple Mercury Supercharged Verado outboards teamed with Fountain's super ventilated Positive Lift hull (which comes straight off of their world champion raceboats) give you an insurmountable edge: With a top end in the mid 60's mph and the ability to shoulder aside rough seas, the 38 LX can get you out to where the fish are faster, more comfortable and safer than any other fishing boat on the water. Looking for fuel economy and range? This one's off the charts! Fishing is easy with all the appointments including outriggers, two 150 quart fishboxes, a 50-gallon livewell, rod holders, rocket launchers and a walk-through transom door and outriggers. The cabin boasts 6'5" of headroom and is finely appointed with plush fabrics and rich woods. Forward seating area accommodates 5 adults around the dinette table which drops down to make a large sleeping area for two. The galley has a microwave, a single-burner stovetop, sink and an undercounter refrigerator. In the upper helm area in front of the helm is a roomy L-shaped seating arrangement that is very protected from the elements and features handrails, drink holders and lots of storage underneath.
